Day 9 Continued Gratitude Today’s walk along the Pacific Ocean - TopicsExpress

Day 9 Continued Gratitude Today’s walk along the Pacific Ocean was the longest walk I have taken while visiting Costa Rica; not in distance but in time. I usually move at a pretty good clip while walking but not today. Knowing this is my last day caused me to slow down, to absorb every sound, smell and sight of this amazing place. I strolled along the shore, watching for unique shells, ones unlike those Ive gathered already. I stopped often to watch the waves roll into shore, etching them to my memory so I can recall them whenever I want those remembrances. I leisurely sat among the rocks and watched several varieties of birds dive into the waves in search of breakfast. They would hover above the surface until they eyed their prey, point their beaks and bodies towards the water and plunge into the wakes. After each dive they reappeared at the surface with a fish or crustacean in their beak. After my fill of the feeding frenzy, I continued along the shore, viewing scenes I had memorized from past walks, but this time, watching for new memories to relish. I came upon the reading spot I constructed of petrified wood within a clutter of succulent greens during one of my first walks here. I laid my towel over the log and sand and leaned against my throne to survey the ocean. While sitting there, I prayed a prayer of gratitude. I thanked God for the opportunity of this trip. For the wonder of his creations, the tranquility, healing, solace and peace I have experienced in this amazing place. For all the blessings he has given me here, in Costa Rica and at home in Minnesota. Adios from Costa Rica.
