Day Six was not bad! Frank came and replaced the one broken - TopicsExpress

Day Six was not bad! Frank came and replaced the one broken sprinkler head and then Jim and I lazed around for a bit before going to Walmart. This is the second Walmart in the area we have gone to and I did not like the first one or this one. Kinda dark inside and crammed together. There is another one a few minutes away we are going to try in a few days....seems we always need something we forgot. Also went to Lowes to pick colors for painting the inside of the house. Came home with five sample bottles that we will schmear on the walls tomorrow and test for a few days. Also checked out wood floors both real and laminate and saw nothing we loved so we are going to call a friend of ours who just had wood floors put down and see who she used. Tried to find one of those curly hoses for plants, lawns etc. and neither Walmart or Lowes had one...really? Just a regular curly hose is all I want - need to keep searching. Came home and our neighbor, Ken, came over just to chat and bring us the community newsletter. The people here are a wealth of information and really friendly. And they do not move in the night like people do in Cali so that is a plus! Lots of texting to people today and talked to my sister for over an hour on the phone. Another homesick phase this afternoon but I talked to Amanda tonight also and texted Angie and Marni so that helped. Spoke to Jimmy last night while we were on the monorail. I know to expect these homesick feelings, and can feel them coming on, and I guess it is normal. If not I am in trouble. Unpacked more boxes looking for our bedroom TV. We have the large living room TV but we have no living room furniture so we thought we would set up the smaller bedroom TV and watch TV comfortably. We found the TV and the base and although the packing box said the base screws were in the box, they were not. We search and searched and gave up as now it is late. Feels funny to not have watched TV since January 10th and we are really out of touch with what is going on in the world outside our new surroundings. Maybe tomorrow we will locate the screws. Made our first dinner in our new double convection wall oven - chicken patty sandwiches! Neither of us were hungry so we settled on breaded chicken patties on hamburger buns with swiss cheese. I consider it baking our first dinner cause I did have to turn on the oven and push the bake button. It was actually pretty good. George is sleeping a lot but seems to be getting used to not going outside. He only cries and goes to the windows a few times a day now, but he seems quiet and depressed. I feel bad for him because he must feel like his life changed in a moment and has no idea what happened. Poor little guy. So today was kind of uneventful but that is ok cause we needed a slow day. Now time to kick back, read in bed and get some sleep. Not sure what is on the agenda for tomorrow other than the bank, the post office and checking out our paint samples. Nite all!
