Day Twenty-Two: Today in class we discussed Godly Affection. Before we left I told the group now we know more about it we will be tested. On my way home, I stopped by Walgreens and there was a man who stopped me as I was coming out. He asked for a few dollars to get his wife and three kids something to eat. I was skeptical at first and proceeded to get in my car. Sir Im sorry, but I dont have any cash. He said I understand, I got in the car and drove off. But it wouldnt sit with me I pulled over and said Lord what you want me to do? If hes tryn to feed his family $2-$3 aint gonna get it. I went back like the Lord said and the man rushed to the car (possibly thinking I had brought back some cash) . Sir, if you dont mind following me to Popeyes I can buy you guys something to eat. He jumped back in the car and followed me. They waited while I went through the drive thru. When I pulled back around he humbly said thank you, God bless you. As I continued to hand him the food the kids jumped out the back and came to the car to say thank you. At that moment I broke. The father told me he had lost his job two weeks ago. And its been difficult but he knew it would get better. We said our goodbyes and I went my way. I thought later I should have got his name and maybe referred him somewhere. God said you did what I wanted you to do. So I shared all that to say that Im thankful that I had it to give. Im thankful that I responded like God wanted me to. Im thankful for where I am and from how far God has brought me. I pray that in this season we remember to use proper discernment to be a blessing to others. Be blessed. Be safe.
