Day of the Dead/Día de Muertos is a holiday observed throughout Mexico and around the world in other cultures. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. It began on October 31st and ends November 2nd. In the U.S. November 2nd is recognized as well for many as All Souls Day. On this day many around the world in various ways and traditions pray and recognize those who have passed on.
