Day-um! Frame this shit: Review from Amazon Customer: The first book was five-star teen fiction; the second book is five-star literature Finally, a new book so good I wish I could give it more stars than the five I gave the previous one. That one was great as juvenile fiction; this one is just great as a novel, and forget about horror (though it has plenty) or juvenile. In Bridge of Bones, the horror (and suspense) are integral with the psychology of the characters and with their choices, which range from a banality of evil to a matter-of-fact heroism in the face of personality-shattering challenges. The books alternative reality is so meticulously drawn, and so masterfully integrated with the starting facts, that after the end I had to remind myself that it was fiction. Bridge of Bones is everything that an alternative-reality novel ought to be, and can be, made real by a master. I would give it five times five stars if I could....
