Dead animals major cause for worry in flood-hit Srinagar Srinagar: Bloated carcasses are seen floating across the inundated areas of Srinagar, as doctors warn of epidemics and say dead animals are most likely to trigger them along with the stagnant waters. There is practically a medical emergency even as almost all Srinagar hospitals that were inundated are struggling to function again to deal with it due to lack of equipment and shortage of medicines. Outbreaks of gastroenteritishave begun to be reported.
