Dear All, Today marks the 22nd anniversary of my gaining - TopicsExpress

Dear All, Today marks the 22nd anniversary of my gaining permanent employment within Local Government. After a brief spell in Education, I was transferred to Personnel Services, where I spent the rest of my youth training placement. I really enjoyed my time with the Personnel Training Section and the staff there played a huge part in my development, not only as a staff member but also as a person. I attended my interview for the post of Clerical Assistant within the Finance Unit of Strathclyde Roads on the 3rd November. The next day, I was told I had been successful. One of the things that my great friend (and then-boss) Eddie Russell told me that when he asked the staff advice about taking me on and that I would need a little more support and guidance than most people, all of the staff, to a man, and woman, said Do it, Eddie. We will look after him I was desperate for a chance to prove myself and to receive support and backing outlined above made me so determined not to let myself or my colleagues down. After 22 years, Karen Doyle is the only member of staff left from the original (and fab) Glasgow South group, whom I work with directly. She still keeps me on my toes. Thanks Karen. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of my colleagues, past and present, for their support and guidance through good times as well as bad. I will never forget my roots and those who have helped me in the past and those who continue to help me on a daily basis. Thank you one and all. Love Anthony XXX
