Dear Canon - We are writing as long-time Canon camera users who sacrificed our earlier camera systems, at great cost – our Nikons, Hasselblads and Leicas – for Canon digital cameras. Why did we do this? Because they all lagged behind in the affordable megapixel race. Being experienced image makers, we know how megapixels trump all other photographic variables such as ease of use, dynamic range, low noise, ergonomics and system quality. Frankly, each and every one of us is tired of dealing with “pixel envy.” What’s the first thing we’re stuck doing every day, before we have coffee or check email? We have a look at DPReview and Canon Rumors, hoping for a breakthrough! It’s a terrible thing to deal with our pixel inferiority complexes and knowing that our old, trustworthy Canons no longer produce the same quality images they did before your competitors introduced higher megapixel models. (I am still trying to figure out how this works… Images I once thought were good now suck because they were taken with a “fewer megapixel” camera.) Thanks for hearing our plea. We know you’ll come through sooner or later but in the meantime, do you warranty Canon lenses used on Sony bodies? Thanks, The Megapixel Collaborative
