Dear Carla Wood Alcorn: I am very sorry for the loss of your child. I am hoping that while you mourn HER loss that you realize what you put her through did not help matters. She came to you finally feeling free because she realized who she really was and you put her down, made her feel like a disgusting human being, called her selfish, put her through conversion therapy where she was also told she was wrong, and being selfish. You only cared about your own reputation and not about how your daughter would actually feel. Even in death you refuse to recognize her in the correct pronoun or the fact that she committed suicide. You still call her Joshua when her name was Leelah Alcorn. She was beautiful. She was radiant. She was human. She was your daughter. And you crushed her soul and broke her heart with your own fears and hate fostered by a religion that taught you no tolerance. While you mourn your loss, I hope that you learned from this and that you respect your daughters wishes by honoring what she wrote in her suicide note by donating what she had to those in support of transgenders. No one deserves to go through what you put your own daughter through. Dont let her death be in vain. #RIPLeelahAlcorn
