Dear Christy Clark, I did not write this post for a long time - TopicsExpress

Dear Christy Clark, I did not write this post for a long time as I thought the BC Teachers strike would have ended by now. Unfortunately, it hasnt and the students are not happy. I have a little brother, 13 years old, who was supposed to enter into the world of high-school this year. His excitement was so contagious that it reminded me of what I felt like when I first went to high-school: meeting new friends, getting lockers, meeting teachers, joining new clubs, learning and etc...I hope you get the point that students are not happy with your government at the moment. Teachers are notably, one of the most caring and compassionate individuals in the world. They stay after-school without pay to help a student if they need help. They buy a lot of important materials that they feel will help enhance the students education from their own salary. They become friends, mentors and sometimes, even like a family. They go above and beyond to ensure that one day, we could be educated enough to continue following our passion in life. Teachers such as Suminder Singh and Donna Jean Yakubowski to name a few have provided me with life lessons that I could not have attained, if I self-studied at home. I may not know much about the whole strike deal and what all the teachers are asking for, but I do know that teachers (just like you used to be) have a family to support, and that they are truly passionate about teaching students! If anything at all, they should be receiving a raise in their pay instead of many government officials who use taxpayers money for their own good. I hope that you will end this strike as soon as possible so that my brother and all the students across BC can go back to school! I dont like hearing my brother call me everyday saying that he is self-studying and bored at home without socializing with his school friends. So it would be greatly appreciated if you can end the strike as soon as possible. Sincerely, Sukhmeet Singh Sachal A graduate from Tamanawis Secondary, Surrey BC
