Dear Eberhardt School Community, Over the weekend, we received - TopicsExpress

Dear Eberhardt School Community, Over the weekend, we received the sad news that a member of our Pacific family was badly injured and hospitalized in the tragedy that took six lives in Isla Vista on Friday. Nicholas Pasichuke, business major and member of our men’s water polo team, was among 13 people injured during the attacks. Nick was struck by the gunman’s car while on a skateboard and remains in the hospital with serious injuries. Our hearts go out to Nick, his family and many friends, as well as to the families and friends of those who died in this tragedy, to the others who were injured, and to the UC Santa Barbara community. Dean Gale has been in contact with Nick’s mother who is with him at the hospital in Santa Barbara where he is being treated. She is anxious to get him home to recover, and he is already asking when he can get back to play water polo. We will keep you informed of any new information we receive. Nick has received an outpouring of support from family, teammates and classmates over the Memorial Day weekend. The hashtag #PrayForCheeks has been established to share well wishes and updates. We encourage students to take advantage of the University Counseling and Psychological Services available for those needing support in the aftermath of this tragedy. These services are available to Pacific student at all times. Students may call 209.946.2315, ext. 2, for assistance. Please hold good thoughts of support for Nick and his family in this difficult time, and join us in wishing him a speedy recovery from his injuries so that he can rejoin us at Pacific and ESB. Sincerely, Breanne Beseda, MBA Managing Director, Marketing & Communications Eberhardt School of Business, University of the Pacific
