Dear Family & Friends of Mobile Medical Mercy Ministry: Very - TopicsExpress

Dear Family & Friends of Mobile Medical Mercy Ministry: Very early this Tuesday morning, October 15th, 2013, we were hit with a major earthquake. We were outside in our dirty kitchen just finishing up our breakfast when the quake shook us to the ground...literally!! I will make this fairly brief right now as we just got some power back on after not having any way to communicate this entire day. All of you probably know more than we do at this point as we have no TV coverage as of now. Were not sure how long the power will stay on!! We do have water, so thats a major blessing at this point!! We are camping outside in our Nippa (Native style) buildings. They are safer than our two-story cement block house. WE do have some structural damage and with hundreds of after-shocks today, we dont think its safe to be in our house. Many have died here on this island and many injured. One hospital was shut down because of structural damage. All schools were on a holiday today, so the students were in their classes....thank God!! Bridges have collapsed and roads damaged. Many of our neighbors have major damages in their homes and businesses. No stores are open as of now. Access to food will begin to be a problem starting tomorrow. As of now, we are personally feeding five families. OUr own staff workers were evacuated from their homes, so we brought them all to our place and we are all sleeping in the nippa houses, including the music room tonight until its safe for them to return to their places. Not sure when that will be. They have small children and one is a newborn. WE need your prayers desperately! WE also have visitors coming from Mindanao by ferryboat who will arrive in the early am. They are doctors and nurses from Davao, Mindanao (14 of them). One is Eds half brother who happens to be a driver for one of the doctors. They had planned to have a tour of Bohol, but will now offer their services in helping us assist all the injured. Gods perfect timing!! Please pass this information on to anyone else you think may want to know. Thanks! We are thankful to the Lord that He spared our lives! Many are dealing with grieving tonight of their loved ones who died. Last report, there were 26 dead and hundreds injured. Were not sure how accurate those reports are!! Anyway, want to send this out and at least let you know we are okay. Thanks in advance for your concerns and prayers. We will keep you updated as we can. Lovingly in Christ, Ed & LouAnne Mariano, Bohol, Philippines
