Dear Family and Friends of Facebook!!!! This year I am dedicating myself to raising funds that benefit Children’s Miracle Network through participating in the 19th annual Dance Marathon at Florida State University! I am proud to be standing and dancing with over 1,800 students for 20 sleepless hours at the Leon County Civic Center on March 28th-30th. I am volunteering to do this in order to raise money and awareness for children at our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital and Tallahassee Pediatric Outreach Programs at the FSU College of Medicine. As one of the founding 5 schools of Dance Marathon, DM at FSU has raised over $4.5 million since its launch in 1996, making it one of the best in the nation and a true FSU Tradition. The funds raised at Dance Marathon at FSU provide medical care for the children treated at our Children’s Miracle Network hospital in Gainesville, funding for pediatric research, patient care, expensive medical equipment, patient education, and diversionary activities for children and families enduring difficult and long hospital stays. While Dance Marathon is indeed an enjoyable event, the miracle children are at the heart of the experience. The 20 hours I will remain on my feet cannot compare to the hardships these children have endured. While each dancer is required to raise a minimum of $150, my person goal is to raise as much as possible. Your contribution today will support local children facing afflictions including but not limited to heart or lung transplants, cancer, cystic fibrosis, sickle cell anemia, and pediatric AIDS.
