Dear Fellows, It is a privilege to have received this opportunity to be your conference director. It is an honor to have a passionate team who will spare no effort to present you a memorable and rewarding conference. Aristotle said “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” It means that a group of people working together can accomplish more than each of them working alone. When putting our strengths at work and working together the interaction of multiple elements in a system can produce an effect greater than the sum of their individual effects. It is no secret that our Suriname Community is facing many challenges and hurdles. Aligned to our ’Active Citizen Framework’ we have chosen for the following Conference theme “Unite Strengths for a better community”. If we unite our individual strengths JCI members can pave the road to bring the community to a higher level.
