Dear Football friends and parents, Cypress Ranch M.O.M.’s Club Minutes June 26, 2013 I. Opening Welcome Trish welcomed everyone and reiterated the mission and purpose of the MOM’s Club. II. Team Leads Update Lead Moms for the following committees were chosen: Varsity Carb Meals----Joan Martin Mustang Corral----Tara Rock Meet the Mustangs----Julie Thomason Coach-to-Cure----Flora Walker Pink Out Game----Kathy Hogan Varsity Team Bonding----Denise Russell Varsity Homecoming Steak Dinner----Julie Thomason Social Committee for Moms----Melissa Heitman III. Committee Updates Varsity Carb Meals: Currently discussing options with Antonia’s Italian Ristorante in Cypress for providing meals of spaghetti and lasagna. Sounds very promising. May also check with Luby’s to see what they can offer. Varsity Homecoming Steak Dinner: Discussed possibility of providing steak meals with Antonia’s also. They seemed very interested. Will continue talking with them. Note: Still need more help with this committee. Varsity Team Bonding Committee: Joan Martin talked with the coordinator of the CFISD Ropes Programs. Have half-day as well as full-day programs available. Five facilitators would be needed for a group of 60. The cost for a half-day would be roughly $13 per player and about $19 per player for a full-day. Not sure if we will move forward with this activity or not. Varsity Jersey Update: New varsity jerseys should arrive in July. Current jerseys will be passed along from team to team so all teams will have a different jersey this year. Due to the fabric and style of the new jersey, varsity players will only be allowed to wear them during the game. They will not be able to wear them at school on game day as they have done in the past. Two options were presented for a jersey/shirt that varsity boys could purchase to wear at school on game day. Joan Martin presented a long-sleeved Adidas Dri-Fit shirt that would have players’ numbers and names added. Kristen Thorin presented a jersey from Barcelona Sports that could also have players numbers and names added. More research will be done and then two choices will be presented to the varsity players and coaches. They will make the final selection. We will keep you posted. Sub-varsity teams should still be allowed to wear their jerseys at school on game day so this does not apply to them. IV. Upcoming Dates * The following dates were briefly discussed: • SAC Camp June 24 - July 25 • Freshman Football Camp - Week of 8/5 • 10, 11, 12 Grades Football Camp - begins 8/12 • Mustang Corral - 8/12 • Meet the Mustangs - 8/24 8:00-10:00 am • Scrimmages - 8/23 • First Day of School - 8/26 • First Varsity Game - 8/29 • First Sub-Varsity Games - 8/30 V. Upcoming Meetings * Please mark your calendars with these important dates. • July 17th at 7:00 pm Antonia’s Italian Ristorante in Cypress. • August 14th (committee specific) These committees will be meeting only: Mustang Corral, Meet the Mustangs, Varsity Homecoming Steak Dinner, Varsity Carb Meals, Varsity Jerseys and Senior Poster/Banner • August 21st VI. Committee Break Out Sessions All moms in attendance gathered in their respective committees to continue planning for their events. *Dates are subject to change
