Dear Founding Members of Bracknell Nepalese Society, I have - TopicsExpress

Dear Founding Members of Bracknell Nepalese Society, I have been living in Bracknell for the past 2 years and two months ago me along with my relatives decided to have a gathering [Daju Bhai BhetGhat] party on 28th of September in Bracknell Learning Center. But today I was informed that the Bracknell Nepalese Society wants to have a Dashain Party at the same time and at the same location which was a complete co incidence. I was approached regarding this matter by Kalyan Gurung who seems to be the leading member of Bracknell Nepalese Society. But there are few things fundamentally wrong with how I was approached regarding this situation. 1. My personal information that was gained from the Learning Center should have never been provided to Mr Kalyan Gurung because he does not have any right to my personal information. This was a violation of the Data Protection Act 1998 and hugely a fault of the Learning Centre. I am pretty sure not everyone would be happy if someone you dont know called you up and started reciting your home address to you more than once. 2. The way I was approached regarding this matter was very disrespectful. I was asked about who my father was, how long I have been living in Bracknell, who I know in Bracknell. Imagine someone who doesnt know you and asks you details about your private life and personal life. This was completely unprofessional and this was done without giving me any formal introduction as to who the other person on the other end was. If I was simply asked bhai our dates have collided can you consider moving the date or to a different room I would have simply conferred with people I was organizing the party with and would have had discussions. And actually I have done that but unfortunately its too late at this stage for us to move. If someone sits in a respectable position of a society I think he/she should have enough respect for the members of that society or at least the manner to formally introduce himself/herself and have respect for the people they are having a conversation with. Thank You
