Dear Friends... As with all things and especially all goods things they must come to an end. It is with much reluctance, after two years, that we have decided to call it a day with our ‘Artists Uprising’ Website and to admit defeat. That while our idea had substance the site never earned the interest we hoped for or the member numbers. The ‘Artists Uprising’ website was started as a College Media Project, with the hope that it would become a full time project further on. This was not to be the case as simple but necessary things like life and full time employment got in the way. Our idea behind the website may have been naïve -which was to merge artistic worlds or mediums together through the form of collaboration, enabling artists to converse and share projects. However, in an online sphere this can sometimes be met with suspicion and skepticism. While that may be, we can only state that our intention was good and we remain hopeful in our naivety, that sometime in the future our collaboration theory will reach fruition. And dont forget the words of Robert E.Park- The ultimate community is the wide world (1925) We would like to thank all the Uprising Artists who chose to support us and we wish them well, these include family, friends and past college mates as well as some complete strangers who placed their trust in us.
