Dear Friends, Did you know that shark finning is still allowed in New Zealand waters? Globally, over a quarter of a million sharks are killed every day. Many are killed just for their fins, and then dumped back in the ocean. This is banned by almost 100 countries and states but it’s still legal in New Zealand. Help put an end to this senseless waste. Show your support for a ban on shark finning in New Zealand waters. Now at: greenpe.ac/BanSharkFiNZ Around the world shark finning is threatening the survival of entire shark species. Sharks are the top ocean predators. They are vital to the health of our oceans. Blue, porbeagle & shortfin mako sharks are the main species killed for their fins in New Zealand waters. All three are on the international red list of threatened species. Shark finning is just plain wrong and it’s certainly not a good look for a country like New Zealand to allow the practice to continue. This video documents the practice youtu.be/aNUBRv52IBk - it’s not easy to watch but please consider sharing it on Facebook to help spread awareness. Support the ban now at: greenpe.ac/BanSharkFiNZ Thanks!
