Dear Friends, Our website which was out of action for the past one year due to various reasons was activated recently. Ms Amrutha Reddy from Seattle USA designed the newer version of the website, which is very attractive and also user friendly. All of us thank her for making us to known worldwide. In the last quarter the things that have happened are very interestingly. The deputy Commisioner of police of Jayanagar has come forward to collaborate with us to institute a counseling centre in the premises of the police station there, so that their work load would be eased. The agreement is that three days in a week some of our committee members and counselors would go and interact with the clients there to find suitable solutions to their problems. Abhayashrama was perpetually in need of more water, but the storing facility was not sufficient. So a large sump was built which has the capacity of storing 12,000 litre of water. This has more or less solved our water problems. The committee decided to utilize the vacant rooms in the first floor of the Abhayashrama building for a beauty salon. The idea of converting the rooms into a beauty salon was to facilitate the beauty training course which at present is being held in the tailoring training room. The space there is not sufficient to accommodate 20 students & it also lacks water facility, which is a very essential part of the training. The training is for six months and after which they are given certificate for having trained in the art of beauty care. The aim of the training is to equip underprivileged young women, to find jobs in the beauty salons, which in turn will make their economically independent. Smt.
