Dear Friends of Liberty, Please accept my warmest greetings - TopicsExpress

Dear Friends of Liberty, Please accept my warmest greetings this Constitution Week from the high desert of southwest Idaho! I write you to announce my write-in candidacy for Governor of Idaho. With this pronouncement, its certainly appropriate that I offer some answers to the most obvious questions... Question: Why start a campaign now with only seven weeks before the general election? Answer: Fair question. I believe the economy to be at the forefront of issues facing Americans and particularly, Idahoans today. Idaho ranks 49th of the 50 states in per capita income and that percentage of the national average is falling, our Gross State Product ranks 50th of the 50 states and the District of Columbia and I dont hear the message coming from the political marketplace this gubernatorial election that adequately addresses the issue. There are no money back guarantees in this marketplace, and the current election shopping season appears that it will be no different than those of the past. The treasure and dominion that ought to be inherent in the people will continue to flow to institutions and government, enlarging them even further. Instead we need to harness the powerful machinery of government to redirect empowerment to Idaho citizens and families. Maybe I should put this more simply. In the next several weeks, my campaign will share how to use the power of government to return power to the people. And this power comes to those who have the treasure, and can choose how to use it. You wont get this from the other candidates. Its a new race now! Question: Why are you not on the ballot? Why run as a write-in? Answer: Actually, thats two questions, but one answer should cover it. I was recently endorsed by the Constitution Party of Idaho to represent the true position of the party as an alternative to the current candidate, who did not gain endorsement at the state convention. Because he has chosen to remain on the ballot, the party sought an alternative, and that is the write-in candidacy of Paul Venable. Question: Is this even worth the effort with so little time. Answer: I am a working husband and father and like many of the rest of you, my friends and neighbors... my time - and yours - is not only precious... its priceless! It is frankly not remotely possible to reach 747,711 registered Idaho voters so quickly without two things: A simple message that has viral potential; A citizen driven campaign. This contest is less about the messenger, than the message. If the fair-minded and freedom-loving people of Idaho are willing to stand up and stand together, then maybe the people can win an election - for once. If a lot of us are willing to do a little bit, a few of us wont have to do it all. That means, this campaign - your campaign - needs help with everything: travel funding, video recording, web-work, local gatherings, word-of-mouth, signage and innovative ideas to advance this trans-formative message. I guess the question for you is, do you want this? If We the People want this, and are willing to work for it... it can happen! My next event will be in Meridian this Saturday, 20 September. The Constitution Party is hosting a Candidate Griller at Settlers Park, 3245 North Meridian Avenue, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. where I will be joining two other Constitution Party candidates, Dan Weston, running for Idaho Legislature District 20, Seat B, and David Hartigan, candidate for Lieutenant Governor. A $10 cover charge per plate is respectfully requested to defray costs. When the Founders of our Republic crafted these inspired documents, The Declaration if Independence and The Constitution for the United States of America, I believe that their implied intention was to create something like a nation of kings, not a herd of subjects. It is a concept that has great promise, but only as much as we are able to comprehend and advance it. I am looking forward to meeting up with you. My schedule and resources are tight... and so are yours. Nevertheless, “What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as freedom should not be highly rated.” - Thomas Payne, The American Crisis Godspeed Liberty!
