Dear God, I ask that you cleanse my mind today, as Im sure my blood pressure is up, after reading the article in the Williamsport paper last night, where Roger Bunn bragged about being part of cutting the Tax Collectors pay. It will save the taxpayers $200,000. What he failed to say, there were 39 Tax Collectors, now due the math! What he failed to say, take the commissioners wages & benefits, along with paid vacation, paid holidays, paid personal days, paid sick days and 401k and flaunt yourselves in as many photos as you can (when many times you didnt do a thing to make a difference), and he didnt tell you that the Tax Collectors NEVER received ANY BENEFITS AT ALL! Just the paycheck! What he didnt say ...with the Gas Impact fee monies...one of the categories is Tax Relief. They constantly brag about not raising taxes. The last time they raised the Tax rate was either 2008 or 2009 and they raised it (1) mill...this was the time of the downturn of the economy. As a Tax Collector, I have seen the many struggles over the years of people trying to make ends meet..especially the elderly or a young couple trying to get a start. COME ON...lower that tax rate, USE THAT GAS IMPACT FEE ...as the gas industry affected the whole county...not just the buildings. Do it over the next few years to show TIOGA COUNTY residents & taxpayers, that you have their best interests and are giving back to the community! GREED & SELFISHNESS will get you nowhere...you will have to answer one day to our Heavenly Father! Amen!
