Dear Israeli tangeros, dancers and DJs, I would like to find - TopicsExpress

Dear Israeli tangeros, dancers and DJs, I would like to find out your opinion concerning a question that is discussed in a very popular group. Please, take few minutes to read and reply. There is a tango named Plegaria that is known to be played in Nazi concentration camps in times of executions. It is not the most popular tango in the world but some DJs in Europe play it sometimes here and there. When speaking about this tango in a very big international group, I mentioned that playing it one should remember about its symbolic meaning and choose to play or not to play it consciously because somebody may know what is it and it may hurt some peoples feelings. I got a lot of different opinions in reply - but quite a lot of people think that such things are already outdated and we cant take them into consideration today. Now comes a question: Would you care if you would know that you are dancing to a tango that was played during executions at Nazi concentration camps? Providing that its not a Holocaust Day and this tango is played in a usual way - just as any other tango. Thank you in advance for answering! Upd: Probably, I was not clear enough. I mean just a very simple question: would you care or not? Yes or no? Everything that may be said pro and contra is self evident. I am just trying to understand which feelings are dominant for today.
