Dear Law Students, There is a Public Lecture being held TODAY - TopicsExpress

Dear Law Students, There is a Public Lecture being held TODAY at 6pm in Fulton A Lecture Theatre. The speaker, Paul Bowen QC, practises primarily in public law, human rights and other civil actions, often at the interface of civil and criminal law. He acted for Debbie Purdy in her successful challenge to the DPP’s policy on assisted suicide prosecutions in 2008 and is currently representing Paul Lamb and the family of Tony Nicklinson in their current challenge to assisted suicide laws, which will be heard by the Supreme Court in December and around which there will inevitably be enormous interest and debate. His lecture will focus upon human rights, autonomy, rights to life/die within the context of these cases. The lecture on this very contemporary topic of legal and ethical debate will be of wide interest, and particularly so to all students of public law, criminal law, human rights law, medical law, law and morality etc. USLS Committee
