Dear Member, This FB post is to clarify the issue about the General Assembly meeting called by Lily Mitchell (ex President) and Russ Kruizenga (ex-Vice President). The General Assembly meeting called by them (Lily Mitchell and Russ Kruizenga) that is scheduled December 13, 2014 is not legal since they were removed from office by the Board of Directors effective November 17, 2014. WMFAA by-laws stated that the President is under the directive of the Board of Directors. This by-laws was made to protect the interest of the general membership and not for a chosen few. The monies (membership fees and other fundraising monies) are kept in the bank by the President and the Treasurer that is why the President is under the directive of the Board of Directors. This is what we call Checks and Balances. The President and the Treasurer cannot spend the money in any which way they choose. Minnie Morey is one of the signatories of the said by-laws. Minnie is one of the instrumental in creating this by-laws which during that time, she is one of the Board of Directors.
