Dear Members and Loyal Supporters: The D.C. United Front - TopicsExpress

Dear Members and Loyal Supporters: The D.C. United Front Office has unilaterally decided to only allocate 200 tickets in the 100 Sections to La Barra Brava for the 2014 Playoffs. This is a significant change from past years where we sold tickets across Sections 135, 136, 137, and 138 into the 200s and even the 300s. For comparison purposes we sold in excess of 800 tickets for the 2012 Playoffs and regularly sell more than 200 tickets for regular season matches. Sections 137 and 138 will no longer be Supporter Sections for the 2014 Playoffs. The Elders of the Barra had no input into this decision. We have attempted to secure more tickets in the 100 Sections but the Front Office has rejected all of our efforts. The Front Office made this decision after an almost three hour meeting last week with the Front Office where we discussed numerous ticketing issues regarding the plans for next season. During that meeting, we asked specifically about ticketing plans for the 2014 playoffs. The Front Office never disclosed to us their plan to drastically cut our ticket allocation for the 2014 playoffs. We were blindsided and shocked by the news when we were notified by email. It is our supposition that the Front Office believes that their actions will encourage members to purchase season tickets next year. By locking members out of this years playoffs they believe it will encourage you to purchase season tickets next year. We disagree and our confident that our members will also disagree. If you are approached about purchasing tickets by the Front Office, and if you disagree with this strategy by the Front Office, please express your thoughts simply and directly, but respectfully. In the meantime, our limited playoff ticket allocation has several important and immediate implications for our members: 1) Tickets will be sold first come first serve. Once our allocation of 200 tickets in Sections 135 and 136 are sold out that is it. Because of the limited number of tickets we have available at this time we will only be selling tickets to Members and Members Guests. We will not sell tickets to Non-Members. We apologize, but it is our primary mission to serve our members. If you order a Members Guest ticket, please include in the comments either your membership number or the name of the Member whose guest you are. Tickets are now for sale at the La Barra Brava Store barrabrava.mybigcommerce/2013-single-game-tickets/ Member Tickets may be purchased for $26 Members Guest Tickets may be purchased for $31 2) Please be prepared for non-Barra members in traditionally Barra Sections. Remember that when they complain about the beer throwing, singing, language, flags, etc. that it is not their fault. Please be patient with them and, if you can do so simply and clearly, explain to them why this unfortunate collision of cultures has occurred. However, remember that you are Barra and we are not asking you to change. For 19 years La Barra Brava have been the most loyal and passionate fans of D.C. United. We will continue to support our team on the field and work tirelessly to fight for what is best with our members.
