Dear Mom, Well today is my birthday and I’m feeling homesick. I have made some great friends here, but there is no place like home on special days and holidays. Mom, you have been giving me the best birthday presents that money CAN’T buy since the day I was born – love and security. I’ll always remember when I was sick you would stay up all night rocking and soothing my pain. Another important thing you gave us was a stable family environment. You were always there after school with homemade delicious meals and clean house. Ive looked around a lot in my day and I see family discord and jealousy between children as they vie for their parents’ approval and affection. You had five of us and we are all very close today, mostly because you love us all equally and we know it. But most of all, I thank you for giving me a Christian upbringing. I still remember you singing the old hymns and listening to Christian radio. That made quite an impression on us kids. My relationship with God has always been the rock that gives me the stability and peace of mind that I have. I could go on with this, but it should suffice to say that we have all taken you for granted – kids have a way of doing that to their parents. I want you to know how much I appreciate all the things you have done for us Thank You Dearest Mum, God will continue to keep you and Dad and you both shall live to grow side by side with my own children and their children.
