Dear Mount Vernon Residents, There is a lot of bogus information going around by individuals, I feel do not want you to have a great city. They are constantly providing incorrect information to the residents and taxpayers of Mount Vernon. The Memorial Field Project already has an 8-lane track that will generate maximum dollars, maintain the field and can be used to lower our HIGH TAXES. They obviously do not want us to have it. THE TRUTH is that Westchester County contracted with the City of Mount Vernon for 9.7 million dollars, which includes an 8-lane track, this will NOT cost the residents any additional dollars. DO NOT be fooled by these people. They are saying lets just get something done. WHAT THEY ARE NOT SAYING is that the 8-lane track at Memorial Field is all we have left and is the only maximum dollar generating entity that we have as everything else has been leased or sold off in the City of Mount Vernon, such as the fields below: Ice Hutch Hutchinson Field Glover Field and much more… DO NOT listen to the individuals that continue to try and fool the residents with constant lies. Some of the same people constantly increasing our taxes, increasing our fines, constantly selling off our city for CHEAP. I put out a referendum so that we the residents can vote in November. My proposition will allow us vote on whether we want the 8-lane track or not. Over 1200 residents signed the petition so it will be on the November ballot. Let us come together as a community and DEMAND WHAT WE WANT. Please feel free to contact me your elected official who is working for you and I will provide you with the facts.
