Dear Moviegoer, Ive long talked about bad movies like North and Bio-Dome that infuriate me to my boiling point. There are movies that are so bad theyre repulsive to the core, but there are also the opposite. There are movies that are so horrible, that theyre actually incredible. What I mean is that there are films that are so horribly done, that, ironically, they become laughably entertaining. Be it bad writing, bad acting, bad directing, et cetera, the combination of mediocrity makes for an astonishingly entertaining experience. Films like Troll 2, The Room, and others (reviews will come, trust me) have been included in a class of their own for this very logic. It wasnt entertaining in its own genre, but was met to much success for being the exact opposite of what it was meant for. This is where I find a rare predicament. Films like Troll 2 have become cult icons and are met with love and admiration, but films like Batman and Robin are met with the opposite. Both are profoundly stupid, and are on every bad movie list out there, so why does on get special treatment, and the other get the whipping rod? I believe it comes from a preconceived expectation of whats expected. I may be wrong (not bloody likely), but when you walk into a movie like Battlefield Earth, you see the size and quality of the film and think it could be like Independence Day, and be an effects show. Battlefield Earth was not a Special Effect extravaganza, nor was it beautiful, and told a story so stupid and full of plot holes, you could get hurt thinking about it. On the contrary, films like Sharknado, you know not to expect much, and is far easier to enjoy it, because you know its a B movie. I could go on (heads up, may be a video soon), but I really want your opinions on these kinds of films. What films are so bad theyre good, and what films are just plain bad? Explain you reasons.
