Dear NORMLS Members, On Monday the Ohio Association will release its June 2013 pending home sales numbers. In Northeast Ohio our pending agreements are up 18.4% over the same period in 2012 while the OAR numbers for the state are excellent, they do not rise to the level of Northeast Ohio. Here is a quote from Thomas J. Williams, President of OAR: “The increase in the number of homes put into contract in June is another important step forward in Ohio’s ongoing effort to establish a solid, stable housing marketplace,” said OAR President Thomas J. Williams. “It’s becoming evident, with each passing month, that buyers are gaining confidence in the market and an appreciation that home ownership is a wise long‐term investment.” "Ohio’s June Pending Home Sales Index of 137.9, a forward‐looking indicator based on contract signings, rose 13.4 percent from the June 2012 index score of 121.6." Since the pending sales report is the most up to the minute indicator of sales in a market, we have evidence that this market continues to improve.
