Dear NRST swimmers and parents. Many of you are probably unaware - TopicsExpress

Dear NRST swimmers and parents. Many of you are probably unaware of the behind the scenes activities that occur with organizing and running the swim team. We have been facing many obstacles this recent season with the Wood River Community Association management and now the Board of Trustees. While we have been required to pay lifeguards (even when practice is during public swim), required to pay a portion of the pools insurance policy, we also have to pay even for renting the pool for our end of season party, Ive now received notice that more obstacles are being placed in our way. I am thoroughly disgusted with the new requirement that we provide our own $1 miilion liability insurance policy, that will also include a Hold Harmless clause releasing the pool itself of any claims. Medical releases will be required of all swimmers and NRST would be responsible for any specialized care or supervision of swimmers with medical issues . Parents will be required to sign waivers of liability releasing Wood River Pool of any responsibility should a swimmer be injured. Yes- Im angry and I hope youll read the attached letter and share your feelings with me on this matter so that I have some input on how to proceed. I am completely appalled by how our team (which brings in so many memberships) is being treated by the pool management and Wood River Board of Trustees. -Amanda Millhouse
