Dear Nature Lovers, My name is Raja, I am a 5th year student in social science. Im writing to you guys - who I believe are the people who loves a great adventure and loves exploring the wonders of nature - to offer you to join me and my friends (alumni from MUIC) on a trek to Everest Base Camp at the end of the year (after we finish our finals, say 15 December and back before around 27 December 2014. This is of course tentative plan). I deeply apologize to anyone interested for such a short notice about this trek. As for the trek itself, Ill keep it short on this page and outline you Overview of the trek to everest base camp. Overview: The trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) will be a 12 day trek, and we plan to go after the finals and come back before new years so we can all be with our friends and family during new year. A 12 day trek means that we will start trekking after we landed at a city name Lukla (everyone going to everest starts here) to mount Everest, and back Lukla, all within 12 days (and from Lukla we fly to Kathmandu and back home to BKK). I want to clarify for anyone in doubt that we wont be climbing everest, we are trekking across the himalayas to reach everest base camp. and the route we are taking is a popular route that will be shared with trekkers from all over the world. Safety: Throughout the trip we will be accompany by a travel agency that I have contacted already, and they will be with us the whole time with medical kits, warm cloths, sleeping, and supplies to ensure our safety. I can promise that we are in good hand. Concern: Being moderately fit is suitable for this trip. The trip agency told me that kid as young as 12, to elder at 70 have accomplish this trip. so if your are moderately fit you are all set. And prepare for the cold if you are interested to go. -25 guarantee. We will be sleeping at lodge cabins (bigger ones have fireplace) at every checkpoints we reached. and there are proper beds, toilets, and full meal and beverages. some place have internet. we will need to prepare for a bit of AMS (acute mountain sickness) as we are trekking in the range of 3000 - 5500 meters the whole trip. I will keep it short on this page, if you are interested, or just have a question you would like to ask and clear doubts, contact me through facebook message and feel free to ask me any questions. Ill be more than happy to answer your questions and get deep into details about the trip. About the fee, Its estimated around 60,000 thb (everything included: air, trek, food, accommodation, service. Everything included.). And if it happens to be a lot of people going, I will have a meet up in MUIC for all the meet in person, and talk about it more to clear up concerns and ensure you guys. Lastly, Ill say that if you love outdoor adventure, and always wanted to go to the himalayas to set foot on everest, but waited for the opportunity, this should be the great opportunity that you dont want to let go. Its going to be challenging but if your heart is ready, you are going to experience what they call once in a life time trip. Best, Raja Asvanon
