Dear New Directors, here are some tips on auditioning actors: 1. Try not to start the audition by giving a long winded explanation about the story and about everything that is going on. We read the breakdown. 2. Please dont give massive direction before the audition even starts - especially when that direction is in complete contradiction to the scene. The actors walking into the room have worked it out, theyve done their homework (hopefully) so just let them play. If it doesnt work then adjust them.You will get a better performance that way, trust me. 3. Dont come and take my chair away. If I wanna use a chair there is a reason for it. Seriously, dont touch my chair.
