Dear Ocean, I apologize for my assumptions that I could somehow figure you out like some board game. I realize now the folly of thinking I could ride you while balancing on top of a thin, fiberglass board. In the future, I will attempt to approach you will a little less assumptions of what I think will happen and just simply enjoy being moved and awed by the beauty all around me. When I am able to sit atop the board without falling like an awkward sea cowboy, paddle with grace, and catch one of your waves without being smashed and rolled, salty water up my nose for days- I will smile gratefully and look for another opportunity to learn.
