Dear Participants, A week ago, an individual was referred to us from Morocco who identified himself as a sanguine Vampyre. As you may or may not be aware, there is no currently known VC subculture in that country, and so this relatively youthful individual in his late teens made contact with someone abroad, who passed his request for community interaction and friendship on in good faith to us at the SAVA. Upon receiving contact with Gabriel Hart, we invited him to join the FOSAV group via the usual screening process. During this process, he objected strongly that the group admin he was assigned to, was a satanist. His assumption was based entirely upon the image of a pentagram displayed on the admins profile. The pentagram in question was Pagan in origin and not Satanist, and attempts to clarify to him the difference in meaning (and to clarify his misunderstanding of Satanism as a religion), demonstrated that Mr Hart has a frightening lack of comprehension. The referrer also contacted us this morning to relay a warning that Mr Hart had intimated that he intends to find a soulmate in our group, that he views his religion as the one true religion and that he intends to enlighten and convert those he encounters in the VC to his own religion. The SAVA is a secular organization, and the SAVC is a diverse community inclusive of many paths, religions and traditions. While there is plenty of room for participants of any and all religious beliefs, spirituality, and identity-types, there is no room for intimidation, harassment, trolling, or religious proselytizing by participants. Therefore, Mr Hart will not be admitted into the FOSAV group, and we hereby circulate this community-wide alert in the interests of safe community interaction in the event that Mr Hart may attempt to enter other groups with the same agenda. We hold no ill will toward the referrer who sent Mr Hart to us, as this was done in good faith to assist a person who expressed an apparently genuine wish to connect with a VC and who finds himself in an isolated region which has no VC of its own. We do not blame them for being misled as this could happen to anyone. Who our members and participants have as friends on Facebook is none of our concern as a community based organization, however, we respectfully request that all who see this consider the above carefully if you have Mr Hart on your friends list, or if he sends you a friend request, or requests to join your vampcentric group.
