Dear Randall, It should go without saying that all employees deserve the opportunity to succeed in the workplace environment free from harassment and discrimination. Unfortunately, a ruling last year by the Supreme Court in the case Vance v. Ball State University makes it more difficult for victims of harassment to seek legal recourse, which is why I introduced the Fair Employment Protection Act to correct this error and restore critical workplace protections. But I’d like your input on this important topic as well. Have you experienced or witnessed harassment or discrimination in your workplace? Take a minute to fill out our survey and share with me why you think protecting worker’s rights is important. I believe that if you work hard and play by the rules, you ought to have the opportunity to get ahead. But workplace harassment still holds back far too many employees and threatens their economic security -- especially women and those working in low wage industries. Helping our middle class get ahead and leveling the playing field for American workers has always been a top priority. That’s why I’ve worked to raise the minimum wage and bridge the gender pay gap. The Fair Employment Protection Act is just one more tool to help workers get ahead. If you’re on board with helping restore workers’ rights, I’d love to hear from you. Click here to share your stories -- it only takes a minute. Americans have a work ethic that is second to none. Thanks for joining the movement to make sure that all employees are properly protected against workplace harassment.
