Dear Red Army Members the world over, I want to share with you this report from our Office in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State. Let’s also congratulate them for a job well done! On the 17th of August, 2014, the Members of Red Army Foundation, under the able leadership of National Chairperson Cde Deng Bol Aruai Bol, Vice-Chairperson Deng Ayok Deng Kuel, Deputy Speaker of National Senate of the Red Army Foundation Cde Simon Yak Deng and Secretary of SPLM National Secretariat for Political Affairs and Mobilization Cde Antipas Nyok Kucha, the General Assembly of Red Army Foundation in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State elected an Executive body to run the affairs of the Red Army Foundation in the State. The role of this body includes, but not limited to mobilization and registration of members of Red Army in the State, establishment of institutions of Red Army throughout the State and preparing the members for upcoming national and State elections in six months. Their names and advisory positions are as follows:- • Mangok Mangok Deng, Adviser on Political and Legal Affairs • Tong Deng Anei, Adviser on Resource Mobilization • Akol wol Mawein, Adviser on Foreign Affairs • Lual Machar Diing, Adviser on Cultural Affairs and Legacy Preservation • Benjamin Bol Mel, Adviser on Red Army Organizations (namely Nation Building Task Force, Red Army Memorial Education Trust, Red Army Brigade, RAISE Group LTD, Red Army Centre and Red Army Patriotic Corps) The Executive Body of the Red Army Foundation in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State also appointed the following Directors of Red Army Organizations in order to help the Executive body run and follow up on the these important national organizations on behalf of Red Army Foundation in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State. Their names and respective positions are as follows:- • Garang Kuot Kuot, Director for Nation Building Task Force (developmental organization to partner with the government, NGOs and development partners in recovery and development) • Santino Dut Akot, Director for Red Army Memorial Education Trust (An educational development organization for red Army that offers scholarships and training) • William Machok Mou, Director for Red Army Brigade(A boot camp for children to be oriented to community and national service) • Peter Kuot Jel, Director for RAISE Group LTD (Commercial wing of Red Army Foundation dedicated to creating income generating activities) • Benson Uporth, Red Army Centre (A multipurpose Centre for Red Army) • Joseph Malek Deng, Red Army Patriotic Corps (An organization that promotes national identity, hard work, preservation of history and legacy and national service) The Executive Body of the Red Foundation in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State established a Think-tank to be called: “Technical Committee of Red Army Intellectuals” (TCRI) whose principle role is to help the leadership of Red Army Foundation in drafting relevant documents, conducting research on critical issues, initiating necessary projects, providing advice and guidance in important areas among others. The TCRI will also help the Red Army Foundation leadership in areas where lobbying is required in order to obtain both political and economic support from government and non-governmental entities. It will also help in other areas where the leadership deem necessary. Lifetime, onetime registration fee is only SSP 100 and an annual subscription fee of SSP 50. These fees come with T-shirt, Cap and lifetime Red Army Membership Card.
