Dear Republicans and Democrats, Congress and Senate; This is enough of this crap. We the people of this democracy are about fed up with your childishness and disregard for others. I haven’t seen this kind of behavior since the grade school playground. If it was a playground you would all be sitting by yourself and grounded from recess until you could play well with others. But, it’s not, and so the crass, half factual, spin-driven vomit that has been pouring out of Washington for the last few years has reached epic proportions, and a stupidity level not seen since…Well…EVER. Because of this continuing idiocy, the citizens of this fine republic would like a word with you in regard to your behavior. Simply put, Knock it off and get back to work. Now. At some point in time it became important to speak loudly, rather than sensibly (Yes, Mr. Cruz, that comment was directed at you, but not you alone) It also became fashionable to spout rhetoric and not really accomplish anything that may actually help the people themselves. It has become normal for the two party system to align themselves directly opposite of the other party in spite of the actual facts about whatever issue happens to be on the table. The only thing you can count on is that if one party says it’s up, then the other party says it’s down, and throw a few colorful insults into the mix and we have another day of business as usual on the “Hill”. In case you think I am overreacting, let me give you a few high points of the last few years. Increased interest rates on student loans. There’s a winning piece of legislation. We are already behind and in a poor economy, so, let’s give those young people that are going to have to compete in the global market on our behalf a few more years of debt to deal with. Great plan. Or, how about a universal health plan so gutted and toothless that it’s close to being useless. But, it’s still better than nothing. You guys have your coverage for life right? For free, right? Then, of course, there’s renewable energy. Still on the back burner while we still maintain our dependence on foreign oil. Because we know those countries in the middle east are all very reasonable folks and would never do anything to endanger our nation. They all love us. It’s just one big hug-a-palooza. Gun control, not one single person was against better background checks and your answers were, wait for it, Nothing. There are many other things; an almost extinct middle class, social security, rising prices, one percenters, ninty-nine percenters. And heaven forbid we ever raise taxes on the wealthy. There are too many examples of ignored and fumbled issues to list here. So let me get to my point. The ACA isn’t the only damn thing around here that can be de-funded. Corporations are not the people. They don’t vote, or become annoyed trying to make ends meet. The longer your assemblage of court jesters and blowhards keeps our government closed, the more I start thinking that it’s time to throw ALL of you out at the next election and start over with a fresh batch of idiots. This goes for Democrats, Republicans, senate and congress. Maybe we can get this next batch of stooges to de-fund your lifetime salaries or your pension plans. Then you can retire to the refrigerator box next to mine.
