Dear Sakuda and your fanatics, I am an ordinary citizen who may not get access to you at least before 2017 when you will be coming back begging for votes from us. So, I hope, your “advisers” and fanatics will get this message to you. While you were busy receiving presidents, Maasai’s were busy slaughtering each other in Shompole over a petty issue that could have been tamed by good leadership. Women and children were wailing under an oppressively hot sun and sleeping outside their homes under the cover of darkness fearing for their lives. I look at you walking on a red presidential carpet and receiving all those gun salutes and my little mind drifted back home. I sympathized that you are being used by men who have super highways heading to their rural homes while you cannot maintain a single tarmacked road that exist in your constituency. The goods that were meant to feed your citizens were rotting on impassable roads. They cannot get to the market. My mind recalled the principle of opportunity cost. Uhuru send you to JKIA for fame and he headed to Mount Kenya to launched development projects, issue free fertilizers and forgive loans to farmer while in your area the rate of vulnerability is spiraling high as cattle, the main economic activity, succumb to the effects of drought. Basic necessities where you represent are not there and does not bother you provided you get the opportunity to sit at the VIP lounge in JKIA and sip a rich cup of coffee. It’s unfortunate for us that despite you being used like a “state house messenger” the free time you are giving for free is not translating to anything good at home. This is the message from those who voted for you. We do not eat fames, and cheap politics of publicity. We need action directed towards serious developmental projects and not mere PR exercises.
