Dear Seniors Im a five year dual degree student with B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and M.Tech. in Manufacturing Engineering from IIT Kharagpur. I was intending to apply for MS in mechanical engineering (in US) after my Masters from KGP (no PhD intent due to long term commitment) But while browsing through the FAQ section of graduate applications (of UCLA and many others) I came to know that students already possessing a Masters degree are not eligible to apply for MS in a closely related field as their current masters. They flag it as a duplicate degree I wanted to know have any of the seniors ever opted for this route (MS after M.Tech from indian institute)? if yes can you please shed some light as to how to proceed?
