Dear Singaporeans, Almost any country will conclude almost immediately that getting a degree is important as it opens doors to opportunities. Ask a person from PRC or India (developing nations), it will be the same, what more from developed countries. Many around the world are concerned to have doors available to access learning opportunities and expose young minds to the world. Discussions covers what else beyond the degree. The degree has already been regarded as a basic commodity to be aimed for. But in Singapore it seems degree equals paper chase, have we forgotten about opportunities? We allow the damned whites to preach to us, and distract from our core Singaporean topics (CPF, Min Sum, Sustainable Wage Law, Discrimination against Singaporean employment ... ) It is time to demand less discrimination against Singaporean students for university positions and scholarships. Stop dishing out freebies to foreigners at our expense !
