Dear Sir, I feel immense pleasure to inform you a very good news. That, on 15th July, 2014, Honble Supreme Court of India, Constitutional Bench (5 Judges), passed an order in favour of SC/ST people. Honble Supreme Court of India, provided benefit to the SC/ST people by giving reservation in promotion. Im sending you this message because many persons are unable to understand complex legal language of the judgement. Certain notable points regarding this judgement: 1. On 23.12.1970 the Department of Personnel issued Office Memorandum relaxing standards in the case of SC/ST candidates in departmental competitive examinations and in departmental confirmation examinations. 2. In 1997, the Central Government withdrawn the O.M. issued in 1970, in compliance with the Supreme Courts judgment in the case of S. Vinod Kumar vs. Union of India. 3. On 15th July, 2014 the Honble Supreme Court has set aside the judgment held in S. Vinod Kumar vs. Union of India and upheld the reservation in promotion for SC/ST and hence provided benefit to SC/ST.
