Dear Smithville friends: Please take time tomorrow to vote in the primary election! I hope that you have studied the candidates and the issues and that you will let your voice be heard! I am voting YES on all the proposed amendments, as they will help ensure that we can keep Washington from further intruding into our lives. Also, the Highway Sales Tax will provide desperately needed funding for our highways. Missouri has one of the lowest gasoline tax rates in the country, and it is not sufficient to even maintain our roads, let alone build new ones. If this amendment is not passed, ALL proposed highway projects will be scrapped in September (next month), meaning that no new highways or bridges or interchanges will be constructed.
