Dear South Africa Sorry to disrupt your evening but this needs to be said... The newspapers are always looking for young leaders, disappointed in the false intellectualism of Malema they ponder where are the youth . The 76 generation see our youth twerking and drunk and wonder if all is lost ? There is a prima fasciae case that our generation is lost....but thats only half the story I want to introduce to one extraordinary gentleman to watch, a man who is making history and breaking down shackles of discrimination by demonstrating excellence. So every time you hear Malema dont stress know that this man exists, every time you see a drunk teen with no sense of purpose , know that this man exists. He is definitely going to be the first President of The African federation. A Malcolm X and Nkwame Nkrumah of our generation. This man is Gwinyai Dube The first ever BLACK Southern African National Universities Debating Champion . Every year universities from all around SADC meet up and take part in a seven day battle of intellects , the annual Universities debating championships. You name it from UCT , ukzn , university of Limpopo , University of Botswana to University of Zimbabwe have all been part of this massive tournament . Wits university also sends its teams to this tournament. The sharpest and brightest minds the nation has to offer met up to see who was the king of debating. The African Socrates . For the past 20 years there has never been a black champion , in the category classified as the most competitive , namely the English as a first language category . For twenty years we have gotten really close , but not close enough . Great black debaters have tried and tried and tried again . Some for over six years, no cigar. Yet this man , this intellectual and rhetorical giant has smashed that glass ceiling in an emphatic way and has made history . In his third ever visit to the National championships , he has has won the trophy for Wits University. He has done more than that to the debating community , he has proved that the back child is capable of competing at the highest levels of intellectualism and coming out as the best. The example he has set can never be understated to a region lacking black intellectualism . What a man What an achievement If you know someone in radio , get them to interview this man If you know someone in television get them to showcase this man If you know someone in the print media , put this man on a front page. This level of intellectualism has to be celebrated, this storic achievement has to be documented , to inspire all black kids to keep chasing the path of reason , the path of critical thinking . Remember the name Gwinyai Aubrey Dube THE FIRST EVER BLACK SOUTHERN AFRICAN DEBATING CHAMPION This is not a movie for this man , he is a great debater. As a Wits student I am grateful that he brought home yet another trophy for the amazing Wits Debating Union , but as a black aspiring intellectual , I am grateful beyond that narrow paradigm, I am grateful that he has set the bar. Amhlophe Gwinyai Makorokoto Mdara urishasha If you can South Africa I encourage you to go to his wall and congratulate him , but beyond that lets get him on air, lets hear what our brilliant young minds are thinking. Regards The guy in a suit
