Dear State of North Carolina, Thank you for changing the vehicle registration process. The previous process was simple and I never had any issues. Now, it is extremely difficult for a residents renew their vehicle registration. As of today, it has taken me months to renew my registration, which I am still unable to do. This is after paying last years property/vehicle tax, vehicle inspection fees, & toll fees. This should have enabled me to renew my registion. Right? The answer is No. Apparently, I owe money from when I used the toll one time right after it opened over 2 years ago and did not receive a bill. Yes, less than a dollar toll is blocking the renewal. So, in order to clear it I have to go to the DMV to print a list of my addresses. Then, I get to bring it to the NC Quick Pass office (where I learned about all of this) in order for for it to be cleared. If I am lucky, my registration can be renewed in December. In conclusion, as a law abiding resident of North Carolina, I am rather upset that I have to waste a vast amount of time, energy, & money for a simple task. At this time, I am a driving a vehicle with expired tags & at risk of a receiving a ticket due to the new renewal process. Hence, the thought of moving another state that does not squander my tax money & respects their citizens is now a consideration. Thank you North Carolina! Sincerely, Jenn Temple
