Dear Stoics, we, the admins of this group Mark Johnston, Telma Larman, Ben Butina, Michael Baranowski, Kevin Patrick Jr. and Florian Meinke) decided to make some changes to this group. We would like a more focused and higher level of discussion taking place here and so we devised a set of new rules that will be valid from today on. You will find them further below and in the groups description. Please review them carefully. With this, fate permitting, we aim to create a more fruitful and comprehensive experience of this discussion group for all of us. Stoicism Discussion Group - Ground Rules: ### Please read these rules carefully ### Application guidelines: - Applications must be accompanied by a paragraph of explanation of the applicants interest in Stoicism. (This will be done via a survey to which our admins will provide the link upon application.) Not providing the explanation of the applicants interest in Stoicism will result in the declination of that users request to join. - Applicants with anonymous/pseudonymous accounts will receive more scrutiny both upon application and participation within the group Posting guidelines: - No posting of memes, pictures, quotes or links without providing substantial commentary closely related to Stoic philosophy - No off-topic posting - No personal attacks, bullying or spamming A first violation of these rules will result in the deletion of the post in question and a warning of the user. A second violation of these rules will result in the deletion of the post in question and a permanent ban of the user.
