Dear Students and other Academician( Related), We are pleased to inform you that I.T.S – Institute of Management is organizing a national seminar with the theme “India Rising: Where are we in the trajectory” on 5th October 2013. India has grown at a rapid pace from 2000 to 2010, but recently the GDP growth has fallen to less than 5%. The slowdown is marked by a sharp drop in investment growth resulting from political uncertainties, a tightening of macroeconomic policies aimed at addressing a high fiscal deficit and high inflation (going well beyond food and fuel prices). Although the Government was quite successful in cushioning the impact of the global financial crisis on India, it is now clear that a number of MDG targets will only be met under the Twelfth Five Year Plan (2012–17). In mid-July, South Korea’s Posco pulled out of a steel mill development project in Karnataka. A few days later, global steel major ArcelorMittal scrapped its Rs 50,000-crore steel project in Odisha. The macro-economic challenges of slowing industrial growth, elevated interest rates, weak FII inflows, higher Current Account Deficit concerns, rupee depreciation, rising raw material prices and fuel and power tariffs, topped by a user-unfriendly business environment, have turned India into a highly unattractive destination. Hence, a need is felt to organise a Seminar on the issue of India’s economic trends at I.T.S – Institute of Management Greater Noida. We take this opportunity to invite academicians, research scholars and corporate professionals to participate in the Seminar by presenting research articles and concept papers. A Brochure of the Seminar and Registration Form are attached here with which provide details about the Seminar. There is also an active link for the Seminar at our official website itsim.edu.in/ that updates the necessary information about the Seminar. We look forward to your valuable contributions on themes that are highlighted in the attached Brochure. We do hope that your active participation, experience and comments will enrich to the knowledge domain in the field of research and inspire the practicing managers to learn and adapt in the contemporary and future business environment. Looking forward to your early response.
