Dear Westminster MPs I am writing to remind you of the horrific consequences which resulted from the illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003, an act which has torn the country apart. A war that has seen millions killed, displaced and orphaned. It is something we in Britain can never forgive ourselves for; a memory that will haunt our lives for generations to come. Therefore, under no circumstances should we be even considering dropping bombs on Iraq again, even if it is at the request of the Iraqi government. You and your colleagues must ensure you do not give Mr Cameron the mandate he is so desperately wanting to show off to the Americans that he is one of them. You and your colleagues must recall the public sentiment in 2003 against the war and in 2013 when the House very wisely failed to back Mr Camerons bid to conduct air strikes over Syria. You must not forget that the UK, US and some notable Arab nations have themselves created the likes of ISIS, just like they created the Al Qiadas of this world or even the Taliban. And you must not allow your mind to be perplexed by Westminster and Tory spin either because ISIS have been on the rampage for the last three years in which period they have killed hundreds of thousands and raped just as many girls and women- they havent just sprung up from nowhere all of a sudden after the beheading of three westerns!!! My sympathy to the families of these innocent people. Why has the UK and US government remained inactive prior to their killings even though they knew fully well what the operation of ISIS contained? Did the lives of the hundred odd thousand killed not matter or count or was their value not significant for these governments to act?!! We must never allow Mr Cameron to repeat Mr Blairs actions. I understand that under international convention genocide demands every nation to act- not just the US and UK. I strongly condemn ISIS and everything they stand for. As a Shia I understand the pain directly as they are hell bent on eliminating followers of my creed. As a Muslim I find this lot despicable and wholly un-Islamic. In any case the solution is not air strikes as it is not adequate to force ISIS to retreat. You must not forget the Americans have achieved very little in their air strikes so far. On the contrary only yesterday ISIS seized and took control of another Iraqi military base! Air strikes is not the strategy. And neither is our direct intervention as it will only breed more terrorists and terrorist threats on our own soil. A fact which has been well proven since the Iraqi invasion, as confirmed by the previous head of MI5. Air strikes are never easy or accurate and as a result innocent civilians get killed, undoubtedly. And the ones that survive end up subscribing to the beliefs of anti west hatred as held by the extremists themselves. We inadvertently become recruitment agents for the terrorists. The solution, ultimately lies within the region involving Iraq, Syria, Iran, Turkey and of course Saudia Arabia, the UKs biggest ally who is also ISIS biggest friend too; certainly the biggest funder of it and also our biggest arms customer- it therefore doesnt matter that it has one of the worst records for human rights abuse. Saudia has over 700 top of the range war planes, we know that because we sold them to it. At the best the UK should provide advise and training and leave the fighting to the aforementioned countries as they, when combined, have much more power than even the US. It is exactly this interventionist foreign policy based on vested interests, double standards and hypocrisy that has made many Scots seek independence. And quite rightly so too. This is not our fight. Dont get us involved. Dont get our sons and daughters killed in another war we dont want. Dont jeopardise the security of our people and of our nation. Dont try to fool the people again. I urge you to vote with your conscious and prevent another round of bloodshed. I trust you will vote against the motion. Yours hopefully Shab Jaffri
