Dear Youth, Many of you are well aware that I have joined the Canadian Cancer Societys Relay for Life in Woolwich Township on June 20th-21st. I am doing this in honour of Mayela. She was a wonderful, kind and loving person and I had the privilege to call her my friend. Please help me to honour Mayela at the event by purchasing a luminary for the Woolwich Relay. As a tribute to Mayela, we want to have at least 50 luminaries purchased in her memory that will be used to build a butterfly beside the track. Luminaries only cost $5 and can be easily purchased online. Our goal is to have 50 luminaries in memory of Mayela by June 14th. To buy a luminary (or a few!), go to relayforlife.ca/woolwich and follow the links to Buy a Luminary on the right hand side. When you fill out the information about the luminary, put in Mayelas name (Mayela Fitzgerald) at the top and your name as the signature. In the Message area, put the word BUTTERFLY. This will indicate that the luminary is to be used as part of the Butterfly design, not as part of the many other luminaries that will line the track all night. You are more than welcome to purchase other luminaries for around the track, both in memory/honour of Mayela and of other friends and loved ones too. Remember our goal is 50 luminaries.
