Dear all, Im uber psyched to announce that my paper A Kantian Reinterpretation: Supernal Beauty in Ligeia has been accepted by The Poe Studies Association (Penn State University), and Ill be presenting it on The Fourth International Edgar Allan Poe Conference to be held in New York! Frankly, this is my first submission and I didnt expect it to be silky smooth... but I guess life is a perpetual surprise. ;) Id like to express my gratitude to Prof. Shun-liang Chao for teasing out the key concepts of the theory of aesthetics, which inspired me to complete this paper. Had I not taken his course Romanticism and the Sublime, I wouldnt have come up with the idea to write this paper or established the connections between melancholy and sublimity. Im especially grateful for the illuminating instructions and the confidence he gave me all the time. Thank you, professor!
