Up until now the recommendation has been to submit the application soon after having turned 21 years, which is also stated on page 2 of the Danish national passport. Due to the fact that the processing time of the Nationality Division of the Danish Ministry of Justice in cases concerning retention of Danish nationality currently is 14 to 16 months, the Ministry of Justice has informed that applications should be submitted between the age of 20 and 21 years. This change is indicated on the website of the Ministry of Justice. We have updated Australia.um.dk with this information as well as created ’News’ headlines on both the Danish and the English version. We have also posted a ‘News’ headline on Newzealand.um.dk.
